    Overview
Accurate evaluation of power plant thermal efficiency performance

A multiplicity of factors impact on a plant and its equipment, and real-time performance evaluation is difficult to achieve―even so, monitoring thermal efficiency is crucial for profitable operations. On top of this, it is difficult to determine if equipment performance changes on an observed loss of efficiency is due to normal wear and tear or an abnormality that requires an immediate response.

Build a thermal efficiency model of the plant and calculate forecasts of thermal efficiency in real time

Building a model of a plant's thermal efficiency allows real-time forecasting of expected performance under optimal circumstances. Comparing the forecasts with actual data and at an appropriate level of granularity, from the overall plant to each item of equipment, detects differences between the model and actual data. Real-time analysis of performances supports efficiency improvement and failure prediction.

    Value
Improve efficiency and increase utilization by comparing actual data with forecasted data

Improve efficiency and equipment availability by comparing real-time data against the ideal state, and enhance performance through early identification of deteriorated performance and signs of equipment failure.

    Why Toshiba
    1. Extensive experience in plant manufacture ensures accurate thermal efficiency models
    2. Displays optimized for evaluation
    3. Customers can modify the model themselves if necessary (for example simulating a machine replacement)

    Thoughts behind the name SPINEX

    SPINE + X

The spine is our body’s central support structure, our core, home to the spinal cord that radiates nerves throughout or bodies. In the same way as the nervous system allows us to experience the world, edge computing delivers fast decisions in data processing by distributing sensing and control to every point where it is needed.

Our spine makes us strong and agile. We can do the same for your business, and contribute to society, by providing an essential industrial IoT framework that supports your people and operations with fast, appropriate on-site processing.

The X of SPINEX represents eXperience and  eXpansion, and the crossover with other value creators and services. This is how we will create the future with TOSHIBA SPINEX Services.

Two pillars of the Toshiba IoT Reference Architecture compliance standard

APIThe service is an open interface, not closed on itself, an architecture that enables third parties to safely create value.
SecurityThe service implements system security that meets global standards. We can provide customers with all the information they need to assess those standards, and determine whether or not the service meets their business’ security requirements.
